Decorate With Deena | The Perfect Galentine’s Brunch

Happy Galentine’s, friends!! This past weekend I hosted a small Galentine’s brunch at my house and it turned out even better than I imagined! I have been obsessed with Valentine’s Day ever since we would pass out little candy valentines to our classmates in school. The colors, the candy, the spirit…it always made me so happy! I wanted to host something for just the girls with this theme and as soon as I Googled it, I started seeing galentine’s party inspiration everywhere on my socials so I thought I’d give it a try! I enjoyed every minute of the planning, shopping, and hosting and I wanted to share everything I did to make it special.

Happy reading :)

How adorable is that little car?! I got it at Target at the last minute because it was too cute not to. Everything else I had already from when I used to decorate my parents’ house for various occasions. Fun fact: the red vase was from the first bouquet of flowers my husband had ever sent me! I put this little setup on my stove because when you live in a small apartment, you make do with the space you have, and alhamdulilah it turned out so cute!

I couldn’t have a Galentine’s party without these sweet balloons and favors! I got the balloons at Party City the day before and I gave them to my guests to take home along with treat boxes filled with Lindt chocolates and Hershey’s Kisses.

I initially wanted to turn the entire island into a giant charcuterie board but I realized it would have been way too much food for this small party so I used all the boards and bowls I had instead and I loved how it turned out. I got up super early to prepare all of this but I was still rushing to the last minute, so my husband helped me with a few of the finishing touches…like drawing the little hearts on the cake (he did alright, I guess 😂). I wasn’t totally happy with the way the mezze platter on the left turned out either because I put it together about two seconds before my guests arrived, but it served its purpose lol! I know, it wasn’t as bad as all that, but my perfectionism eats at me. What helped a lot was being able to get a good chunk of the food (the pastries, muffins, cookies and chocolate-pretzels) ahead of time.

Ahhhh, my favorite board. This one got the most attention from my guests because it turned out so pretty! I actually made those waffles from scratch with my little heart waffle maker (found this one in stock and on sale!). I also made some blueberry syrup to go with the waffles in that little bowl at the top. Here’s a link to this exact board too!

I bought these pastries and the croissants from a place right by my house called COBS Bread, and they were so tasty. And of course who could go wrong with muffins from Tim Hortons! This gorgeous marble cake stand that’s holding them is from H&M Home.

I made these chocolate covered strawberries using Ghirardelli’s chocolate melting wafers but I actually burned most of it while trying to melt it in the microwave. Note to self: putting the chocolate in a heat-safe bowl over some simmering water is always better. Luckily, I was able to salvage most of the chocolate so it worked out in the end!

Whenever I can squeeze in a parfait or veggie cup at a party, I will. These turned out so good and they are super easy to make. Save this idea for your next party!

I had a better vision in my head for how this mezze platter would look, but you get the idea. It was still so delicious! I made those stuffed grape leaves myself with my mom’s recipe. And how pretty is that marble pinch pot set (on its own little board) that I used for the zaatar!?

Lastly, I used disposable cups with this cute disposable set (including the napkin, sleeve, and stopper) that I found at Target! I made coffee at some point during the brunch and served it this way and it made my coffee-loving guests so happy.

Not pictured are the adorable jeans I wore with hearts printed all over them! (I found a similar pair here!) I had so much fun dressing for the occasion and so did my guests. Why not go all out when it’s just you and your besties?

Another thing I did to add to the ambience was create a playlist full of fun love songs! Here’s a link to the playlist I made, but they are all in Arabic because that’s what my guests usually prefer. We all had such a great time and I was able to send my guests home with some treats and a smile. It was the best way to spend the day with the gals I love! I only wish my dear friends from my hometown could have joined me as well.

Moral of the story: if you aren’t spending Valentine’s Day with a significant other, grab your best gals and throw a Galentine’s party instead! I hope you loved this blogpost!

xoxo, Deena
